Arp🐅🏈 defeated West Rusk 22-13 Friday in New London. First win over West Rusk since 2016. Tigers claim 3rd place in District 11-3A Div. 2. We'll play Woodville next Friday Nov. 15 at 7:00pm at Rusk's Eagle Stadium. Arp is the home team. Tickets will be $5 for adults & students. Ticket purchase info TBA. Offensively, junior RB Josh Smith continued his tremendous season with 139 yards on 27 carries while scoring two touchdowns. Junior RB Casen Burgins returned from injury to add 63 yards on ten carries with one score. Senior A-B Martin added a 29 yard field goal. Defensively, Arp was dominant Friday keeping West Rusk to only seven offensive points & forcing two huge turnovers in interceptions by Burgins, and freshman Ty Langley. The Tigers also recorded five sacks including a pair by Zyon Washington. Thursday they wrapped up a perfect 10-0 undefeated season & district championship🥇 by beating rival West Rusk 26-7. 2024 results: https://www.arpisd.org/athletics?filter_ids=448750 For our freshmen Tigers, that is two straight years of playing undefeated football. They were 9-0 as 8th graders last year, & 8-1 as 7th graders in 2022. This year they shut out four of their opponents & only allowed one team to score more than ten points on them. Arp Jr. High Halloween Dance Tuesday Oct 29, 6:00pm-7:30pm in J.H. gym: $3 admission. Concession stand will be open. 🐅🏐 RECORD BREAKER: With seven kills Tuesday at Troup, senior outside hitter Maddie Birdsong added another feather to her cap, which has been a fantastic Arp Lady Tiger career. Birdsong set a new school record in career kills that had stood since 2011, passing Lady Tiger great Latrice Greenhouse who had 1,349 kills. Birdsong now stands on top with 1,351 kills and two matches remaining this season. #TPND #EATT #bEASTtexas #txhsvb

WHAT A FEAT! Saturday our anglers pulled off a a fifth place finish as a team at the Lake Palestine tournament with a number fishing only part of the day. Those youngsters had to also participate in our Arp Tiger Pride Marching Bands's region competition that afternoon in Longview where they wound up doing great as well. Not to mention this was after some of them played, performed, or cheered in our homecoming football game the night before. Individually, how about senior AB Martin who had to fish solo & reeled in a 4th place finish. Senior Madelyne Eaton & junior David Domm took home a top ten finish for the second straight tournament as did AB. Check out the pics to see some of their catches. All student drivers must exit out the back of the parking lot towards Cade Street. ONLY BUSES will be allowed access to the bus loop to drive between the Ag bldg. & the H.S. bldg.
