By winning a regional silver🥈medal Saturday in Houston, Arp H.S. junior swimmer🏊♀️ Megan Spears qualified for the UIL State Swimming & Diving Championships.
Spears finished 2nd in the girls 500 yard freestyle at the Class 4A Region 3 meet at Houston's Lamar High School. And she did it recording a personal best time of 6:38.37.
She also finished fourth in the girls 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:28.62.
The 4A state meet is Feb. 13-14 at North East ISD's Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio.

👏WAY TO GO ETHICS BOWL SQUAD👏: These five young people placed 4th in the state of Texas Saturday at a National High School Ethics Bowl competition at UT Tyler where they competed against schools from all over Texas, including the Houston and Austin areas.

Arp H.S. junior Megan Spears won two gold🥇medals at the District 9-4A swim meet Saturday in Lufkin.
She finished first in the girls 200 yard freestyle with a time 2:28.49. Then she took first place in the girls 500 yard freestyle with a personal best time of 6:40.77.
These outstanding results send her to the Class 4A Region 3 swim meet Friday Jan. 31 at Lamar H.S. in Houston where she will have the opportunity to compete for a ticket to state.

Possibly for the first time in Arp ISD history, our Arp H.S. cheerleaders will compete in a UIL state competition.
Thursday at 10:00am our ladies will hit the floor for prelims at the 2025 UIL Spirit Game Day State Championships at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
If they advance, they will partake in the Class 3A Div. 2 finals Thursday evening.
Let's wish them the very best of luck!

Gray made the second team, while Everett and Cliborn earned honorable mention.

While placing first among alto saxophonists🎷 Saturday at the TMEA/ATSSB band area competition at Henderson Middle School, Arp H.S. junior Case Arrington earned himself a spot on the 2024-25 ATSSB All-State Band. This is the HIGHEST HONOR a Texas H.S. band student can achieve. Case is the first Arp H.S. Tiger🐅 to reach such distinction since his older brother A.J. did so in 2022.
