BIg ups to 🐅🏐 senior Maddie Birdsong who was chosen to play in Saturday's 2024 BSN SPORTS East Texas All Star Volleyball Game along with this season's very best #bEASTtexas 🏐players. Representing the Blue squad, Maddie had 2 kills, 1 block, & 4 digs in the contest played at Spring Hill High School in Longview. Six Arp H.S. Lady Tiger🐅🏐 volleyball standouts garnered All-District 16-3A honors for the 2024 season. Senior outside hitter Maddie Birdsong is a first team selection for the second straight year, after earning second team accolades as a freshman and sophomore. Then receiving honorable mention are senior setter Addison Carpenter, senior middle blocker Aubrey Poole, junior outside hitter Landry Langley, junior middle blocker Kaitlynn Raymond, and junior libero Lucy Hopson. In addition, nine Lady Tigers were named Academic All-District 16-3A. They are senior defensive specialist Amanda Hilbig, senior defensive specialist Claire Hilbig, senior right side hitter Randee Black, sophomore outside hitter Emma Harris along with Carpenter, Poole, Birdsong, Langley, and Hopson. #TPND #EATT #ALLIN #bEASTtexas #txhsvb

Outstanding effort by our 🐅🏀 boys! Arp H.S. swept its way to the New Summerfield Tip Off Tournament title this past weekend. Thursday, our Tigers blew out Athens Prep 97-37. Friday they disposed of the host New Summerfield 93-48. And Saturday the defeated Elysian Fields 66-44 in the championship game. Both play Harleton Thursday, JV at 6:00pm, V at 7:30pm in round one of the Harleton Invitational (all bracket play). Friday they will play Big Sandy or Hughes Springs at 3:00pm/4:30pm or 6:00pm/7:30pm depending on how they do Thursday. Arp🐅🏈 defeated West Rusk 22-13 Friday in New London. First win over West Rusk since 2016. Tigers claim 3rd place in District 11-3A Div. 2. Offensively, junior RB Josh Smith continued his tremendous season with 139 yards on 27 carries while scoring two touchdowns. Junior RB Casen Burgins returned from injury to add 63 yards on ten carries with one score. Senior A-B Martin added a 29 yard field goal. Defensively, Arp was dominant Friday keeping West Rusk to only seven offensive points & forcing two huge turnovers in interceptions by Burgins, and freshman Ty Langley. The Tigers also recorded five sacks including a pair by Zyon Washington. They were 9-0 as 8th graders last year, & 8-1 as 7th graders in 2022. This year they shut out four of their opponents & only allowed one team to score more than ten points on them.
