Our Tigers🐅🏈 never laid down, but came up short to rival Troup 31-20 Friday in the 80th edition of the 7-Mile Rivalry. It was, nonetheless, a festive atmosphere at Bill Herrington Tiger Stadium with Congressman Nathaniel Moran doing the coin toss, to our Arp Elementary School mini-cheerleaders performing during the opening quarter, to Arp alum & Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown showing up to support his alma mater less than 24 hours after playing in an NFL contest in New Jersey. The Lemonade Fundraiser in Mr. Easley's memory has helped many of our Arp families the past few years. This memorial fund is getting low, and we would like to continue to honor his memory by helping our Arp Tiger families with medical needs. Students at the elementary school may purchase a popsicle after lunch each day from September 16-27 for 50 cents each. Donations will be accepted if they are clearly labeled with "Lemonade Fund."

Our heart is in the right place," said 🐅🏈 offensive coordinator Matt Langley to our young men following their overtime contest at Garrison Friday where the Tigers came up one point short 27-26. CLICK https://5il.co/2w53u enjoy the game's 📺highlights📺 as Arp jumped out to a 7-0 lead on junior Casen Burgins one-yard TD run in the first quarter, but trailed 12-7 at halftime. The Tigers regained the lead 14-12 in the third quarter on a TD pass from junior Thomas McKelvey to junior Zane Bourque. However, they fell behind early in the fourth quarter 20-14. But the Tigers resiliently fought back & tied the score 20-20 with six seconds left on a nine-yard TD connection from McKelvey to senior Demarcus Wade. A missed extra point forced overtime. Garrison got the ball first in OT & scored a TD + kicked the extra point to lead 27-20. On their possession, the Tigers then scored a touchdown on a screen pass from McKelvey to Bourque to get within a point at 27-26. They lined up to go for two to try to win the game. However, a penalty backed them up five yards. So they opted to try to kick the extra point to send the game to a second overtime but missed. Arp falls to 1-1 on the season.
