It's always good to strike gold when you're seven miles down Highway 135.

The Arp High School boys powerlifting team did so five times Monday at the Troup Quadrangular meet.

The Iron Tigers finished first overall as team, 14 points ahead of second place and host Troup.  In doing so, four Arp lifters won their respective weight classes and four more wound up second.

In addition, senior Thomas Fuller was named the meet's outstanding lifter in the light platform.  And senior Hunter Nash earned the same recognition in the heavy platform.

It will be the ladies turn down in Troup Thursday at the quad beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The boys will gear up to co-host the Arp Invitational along with the Lady Tigers one week later on Thursday Feb. 2.
