Encouraging fellow FFA (Future Farmers of America) members to push through adversity no matter what the situation, sophomore Madelyne Eaton displayed confidence and enthusiasm on the Quitman High School stage Wednesday.

"Let's motivate each other to get back up there and try again," said Eaton during her speech at the Mineola District FFA convention, her last trial in pursuit of an officer position with the organization for the next year.

Ultimately, Eaton was chosen as the Mineola District Reporter for the rest of the calendar year 2023, and the early part of 2024.

She had to go through a grueling election process which consisted of completing an application, test, interview, and giving the speech at convention.

Through this officer position she will attend leadership conferences, conduct workshops for the district and at the annual Area Vl Greenhand Camp and conduct the Mineola District Convention.

Arp FFA was also recognized Wednesday for their 2022 public speaking contest, proficiencies, and Leadership Development Events.
