For the second straight year, the Arp High School accounting team made their presence known at the UIL academic state meet Saturday in Austin.

They did, however, fall one point short of repeating their 3rd place finish from 2021.

Nonetheless, accounting coach Ruth Forester (center in picture) expressed an enormous amount of pride in her group.

The Tigers earned a total of 596 points to take home fourth place in the Class 3A competition.  (Tuscola) Jim Ned High School, the third place finisher had 597.

Arp had four team members and an alternate compete.

They are junior Kyleigh Pawlik (3rd from right in picture), senior Isaac Penney (3rd from left in picture), junior Kayleigh Shuttlesworth (2nd from right in picture), junior Jacob McMorris (far right in picture), and sophomore Fisher Arrington (2nd from left in picture).

Shuttlesworth and Pawlik both improved in their individual performances from a year ago.  Shuttlesworth wound up eighth, while Pawlik finished 12th.

McMorris was 13th, and Penny turned out 16th.

Sophomore Joslyn Swinney (far left in picture) was also part of the accounting squad and served as an alternate in some of the competitions.

Congratulations ladies and gentlemen on representing Arp, America at the highest level of competition in the State of Texas.
