Another strong showing by the Arp Tigers Wednesday and Thursday as two of them won their respective weight classes, and two garnered 2nd place finishes at Troup's quadrangular meet.

On the boys side, freshman Bryce Everett put up big numbers in the super heavyweight division, lifting a total of 1,260 lbs. in the three core lifts to bring home first place.

Meanwhile on the ladies side, senior Kirsten Millerd finished atop her weight class by totaling up 855 lbs.

Junior Thomas Fuller had a great day in the boys 165 lb. weight class as he raised an impressive 1,200 lbs. of iron which earned him a runner-up finish.

In the 181 lb. ranks, Antonio Ponce wrapped up second place by lifting 970 lbs.  Freshman Emmanuel Ponce wound up third in the same division with 960 lbs. of lifts.

The Tigers boys had three fourth place finishers.

Sophomore Wyatt Hurst was fourth in the 148 lb. weight class lifting a total of 840 lbs.  Fellow tenth grader Kyle Duffy finished fourth in the 165 lb. group with an 870 lb. total.  And Junior Blake Archie did the same in the 220 lb. category putting up 1,030 lbs.

Shawn Sawyer wound up fifth in the boys 165 lb. division with 810 lbs. worth of lifts.

Junior Tiana Foutz and sophomore Skylar King brought third-place finishes back up Highway 135.

King totaled 525 lbs. in her lifts, while Foutz threw up 605 lbs.

The Arp powerlifting boys and girls teams are off this week.  They will resume competition on Thursday Feb. 10 at 4:15 p.m. just down Highway 64 at the Chapel Hill Invitational.
