Showing Tiger grit and toughness, the Arp High School boys and girls powerlifting teams had a solid performance at the Whitehouse Wildcat Invitational Jan. 12 to launch their 2022 campaign.

Under new head coach Wes Schminkey, the Tigers had seven lifters place in their respective weight classes.

On the boys side, junior Thomas Fuller finished second in the 165 lb. weight class.  He put up a total of 1,105 lbs. between squat, bench, and dead lift.

Sophomore Jaydon Spradlin wound up fourth among the 165-pounders with a 960 lb. total.

In the 198 lb. weight class, junior Jaylon Potts took home fifth place, lifting 1,005 lbs.

Amidst the big boys, sophomore Lance Langenbau garnered third place in the 308 lb. weight class with an 1,100 lb. total.  And freshman Bryce Everett was second in the super heavyweight division as he put up 1,160 lbs.

In the ladies ranks, senior Kirsten Millerd grabbed third in her weight category as her lifts added up to 765 lbs.

Sophomore Tiana Foutz had a fourth place finish in her group lifting a total of 565 lbs.

Both teams are idle until next week when they will compete in the Troup Quadrangular.

The boys meet is Wednesday Jan. 26 at 5:00 p.m. at Troup High School.

The girls, the day after, on Thursday Jan. 27, also at 5:00 p.m.
