Bite those medals ladies!

The Arp High School majorettes showed out Wednesday at the UIL Regional Solo & Ensemble Contest Wednesday earning a first division rating.

That means the group, once again, qualified for the State UIL Competition on May 28-30, 2022 in the Austin area.

Individually, junior Kyleigh Pawlik, sophomore Ryan Sherwood, and freshman Madison Williams received first division scores and will also be performing their solos at the State contest.

The other Tiger ensemble members that competed Wednesday at the regional contest in Bullard are freshmen Sarah Maynard, and Alyssa Talamantes.

Earning a trip to state is nothing new for the proud, and highly decorated Arp twirling program.  However, it's a gratifying feeling that for the first time since the 2018-19 school year, they may actually have a chance to attend and compete in person.

In the spring of 2020, the state competition was canceled due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Then a year ago, the contest was held virtually.

The Tiger majorettes are guided by 2021 Arp High School grad Macy Maxwell, who is currently part of the Kilgore College twirlers.
