A tremendous turnaround campaign for the Arp High School boys basketball Tigers resulted in their head coach being named the 2023-24 District 16-3A coach of the year.

In his second season at Arp, Coach Brian Malone took the varsity Tigers from just three wins in 2022-23 to an 18-11 campaign with a trip to the UIL Class 3A playoffs. It was the Tigers first postseason appearance since 2021.
