As part of a strong showing at the UIL Region 21 Solo and Ensemble contest last weekend in Lindale, ten of our high school musicians advanced to the UIL state competition in late May.
Clarinet solo: Maddie Poole
Alto sax solo: Case Arrington
Trumpet solo: Fisher Arrington
Brass quartet: Fisher Arrington, Skylar King, Alex Rodriguez, Jaxon Clary.
Brass quarter: Callie Brown, Kennedy Richter, Chadster Ellis, Ethan Swinney.
Including the ten twirlers that qualified for state in November, Arp students racked up 60 first division ratings in solo and ensemble competition.
57 Arp High School and Arp Jr. High eighth grade students represented Arp in the region contest.
17 Arp Junior High seventh grade students competed in the junior high region contest.
The UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest is scheduled for May 25, and May 27 in the Austin area.
