Theories

Best Practices engage the learner in relevant experiences in which he/she is able to construct new meaning while taking more responsibility for personal learning.

Among the vital ingredients of this "Best Practice climate" are choice, responsibility, expression, community, diversity, and technology...Expression, in all of its manifold forms, is a key to learning and thinking. Format: Tech tools usually capture video  in AVI format. This is a clean clear video that is usually LARGE in size. We call this the MASTER video as it is used for editing and refining the final product before it is compressed to streaming video-- (wmv) or podcasts (mp4)   Example: Calculator.avi

VIDEO FILES: AVI - Good for Master Footage, however, this format needs to be translated into Web friendly formats (mov, mp4, m4v, or wmv)

Examples using the Encoder in Windows Movie Maker (AVI to WMV): HTMLO1.WMV OR HTML2.WMV

MAC users: iMovie will stream video for Podcasting. You will need a host site - iTunes See how iTunes works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/itunes.htm

Video Encoders: Programs that convert AVI to other formats can be downloaded at http://download.com  Search for AVI2MOV or AVI to M4V  OR http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/encoder.html
