WHOLE -- Profuse Exposure (Reading, Research, Simulations, Technology) ---->
Enables learner to learn through Vicarious & Real-World Experience.
Distance Learning -- Satellite, Cable, Interactive Video, Online Courses enrich this whole, literacy and research rich environment.
Example: "Volcanoes" -- there are no volcanoes in Arp, Texas!
PART -- Basic Skills, Terms, and Concepts (Phonetics, Decoding Skills, Dissection,
Formulas) which Enable learners to see important building blocks of language, science,
math, technology, social systems, and teamwork.
WHOLE -- Relating the broad experiences and fundamental skills to a relevant problem
or project.
No skill should be learned in ISOLATION ---> All skills should be utilized by the learner in a meaningful relevant way through personal interaction ( Engaged Learner Model).
Technology allows for diversity -- word processing, video collage, 3-D animation, presentations, graphics, simulation, desktop publishing, poetry, song writing, Web page publishing, HyperStudio stack, can be utilized to motivate the learner.
Technology allows for productivity in both:
Purposeful -- TAAS writing (persuasive, informative)
and
Reflective -- journaling, qualitative narrative
