This form is to be used to identify students who are not on grade level as determined by initiation yearly expectation assessments (YEA).  These assessments are given in the core subject areas (Language Arts/Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies).  Students who are identified as Tier 1 should receive the attention described by the campus/grade level Tier 1 Guidelines.  Parents of the identified students should also receive a letter from the school explaining the Tier 1 process and suggestions for parents to assist the child in gaining the appropriate skills.  This needs to happen within the first two weeks of school.
