Technology Applications Modules
Instructions BEFORE Beginning
There are 7 Modules which will become a part of your Electronic Portfolio. The modules are as follows:
Module 1: Basic Computer & Microsoft Word I
Module 2: Microsoft Word II
Module 3: Spreadsheet I
Module 4: Spreadsheet II
Module 5: Graphics I with Word & Graphics II with Paint)
Module 6: Presentation I with PowerPoint I & PowerPoint II or HyperStudio I
Module 7: Access Database I & II
Some of the modules can be done in either Office 97 or Office 2000. Most of the modules you will be working on will be in Office 2000.
BEFORE you start, you must find your TA_Module Folder on Senior01 and map to that folder. The following are directions on how to MAP to your folder.
From the desktop
Double Click on Network Neighborhood (or My Network Places)
Double Click on Senior01
Highlight the folder TA_Modules (by clicking ONLY once on it)

Click on FILE
Click on Map Network Drive

Click on OK (It DOES NOT matter what drive letter you see in the blue box)
Exit all windows that are open on your desktop...by clicking on the X in the upper right hand corner of each window

Close everything until you only see your desktop

Now Double Click on MY COMPUTER

Now you see TA_Modules listed under My Computer. From this point forward...you will be able to access your TA folder by double clicking on TA_Modules on Senior01. Do this now.

Double click on YOUR folder.
You have 7 folders for your 7
modules. You are to save all your work in these folders. You are NOT
to write in the notebook passed out to you. This notebook will be turned
back into the district. All your work will be done electronically and
digitally.
Each Module consists of:
Pre & Post Checklist (Rubric) can be found at the beginning of each module. Fill out the Pre Column before you do the module and remember to fill out the Post column when you finish the module. PRINT EACH OF THESE FORMS OUT AND TURN INTO MRS ROUSSEAU AT THE END OF ALL 7 MODULES.
Lesson tasks (You will follow along in the lesson and creating practice assignments as your go.)
Reading Assignment (An article is provided for you to read for each module)
Journal Entry about the Reading Assignment (You will
answer questions using a form provided for you on the Web. DO NOT
write in your notebook.) Type in the form and save it in the proper
module folder. The Reading Assignment Form is found at: http://www/default/TAMODULES/index.htm
You have the choice of using either the Word or the Omniform Form. It
will be easier for you to use the Omniform Form. Double click 
on EITHER one of these Reading Journal Entry Forms. Fill out the information and save this FORM in your TA_Module folder under M_1 for the first reading assignment and M_2, etc for the next reading assignments.
You will need to create a Lesson Plan using the Lesson Plan Template (which has 3 pages) (http://www/default/TAMODULES/index.htm). Incorporate in your lesson plan the skills you learned in your Module and implement this lesson in your classroom. Save this Lesson Plan (all three pages) in your TA_Modules folder in the correct module subfolder.
Complete a Journal Writing (use Template provided at http://www/default/TAMODULES/index.htm)

For each module you will need to repeat this CYCLE.
Your work will be monitored online. You are required to complete the Module Readings, Reading Journal, and Module Tasks during the designated inservice day. Within two weeks of the inservice day, you should create and implement a lesson using skills that you have learned. You will need to then Journal about how that lesson went in your classroom. Upon completion of all 7 Modules, you will receive a 40 hour CEU certificate.
