þ “Thank You” þ “Spahseebah” þ “Your Welcome” þ “Pahjshouwlstah” DescriptionIn this project, students create an animation that reflects a portion of a cultural lesson on Russia. They will use Macromedia Flash to create a short Web-ready movie that contains various communication elements: text, images, animation, buttons, sounds, and interactivity. Students will create a complete movie that acts as one mini-lesson. The movie will contain three main elements: þ Introduction sequence þ Index to Content þ Content -- Voice, Video, Sound The principles utilized in this lesson may easily be integrated into any project for grades 7-12 where project management, role assignments, resources, and educational technology standards are applied. Prerequisites Few prerequisites are needed to begin creating a mini-lesson movie. The following should be familiar concepts: þ Opening and closing software applications þ Procedures for saving files to a folder þ File naming conventions þ Vocabulary common to computer file management System Requirements Software Requirements þ Macromedia Flash 5 þ Graphics editor (optional) þ Snagit (http://www.download.com ) Hardware – Authoring Requirements Windows þ Windows 95/98/2000 or NT version 4.0 or later þ Pentium processor or equivalent, 133+ MHz þ 32 MB of available RAM þ 40 MB of available hard-disk space to install Flash 5 þ 256-color display, capable of 800X600 resolution (1024 X 768, millions of colors recommended) þ CD-ROM drive þ Internet connection þ Microphone Hardware – Playback Requirements Macromedia Flash Player is preinstalled in most Web browsers and on most computers. It is included in Windows 98 (including all new Windows 98 computers and above). Netscape Navigator, Apple Macintosh operating systems, America Online, and Web TV, among others.
