ARP INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

ARP HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY

The Board of Trustees for Arp Independent School District met in Special Session on June 25, 2009 in the Arp High School Library at 6:00 p.m. with the following members present:

Dennis Ford President

Patty Campbell Secretary

Earnest Stroupe Asst. Secretary

Heath Grammier Trustee

Also in attendance, Toney Lowery-Superintendent of Schools, Randy Copeland-High School Principal and Dwight Thomas-Junior High Principal. Visitor: Mack Stroupe.

I. CALL TO ORDER: Dennis Ford, Board President called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

II. INVOCATION: Given by Earnest Stroupe.

III. FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS: Roll Call, Certification that “the provisions of The Open Meetings Act, Section 551.001 et.seq. of the Texas Government Code have been complied with in connection with public notice of this meeting and a quorum is present.”

IV. OPEN FORUM: None.

V. ACTION ITEMS: None.

VI. INFORMATION ITEMS:

6.1 Board Workshop on 7-27-09, 9:00 a.m. Three hours credit.

VII. BOARD COMMENTS: None.

VIII. CLOSED SESSION: Texas Government Code Section 551.074 The Board entered into Closed Session at 6:03 p.m. and returned at 6:10 p.m.

8.1 Personnel – Resignations: Heath Grammier made the motion to accept the resignations as presented from Tracie Summers and Vicki Russell. Earnest Stroupe seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.

8.2 Personnel – Recommendations, including but not limited to: consider hiring High School Assistant Principal. Earnest Stroupe made the motion to hire Jeremy Chilek as High School Assistant Principal for 2009-2010 at Local Pay scale. Patty Campbell seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.

IX. ADJOURNMENT: Earnest Stroupe made the motion to adjourn. Heath Grammier seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0. Meeting adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
