ARP INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Board of Trustees for Arp Independent School District met in Special Session on May 12, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. in the Administration office with the following members present:                     

Dennis Ford

President

Patty Campbell

Secretary

Jack Lacy

Trustee

Heath Grammier

Trustee

 

Also in attendance: Toney Lowery-Superintendent of Schools and Yolanda Bruney-Superintendent’s Secretary.

 

I.                   CALL TO ORDER:  Dennis Ford, Board President called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

 

II.                INVOCATION:  Given by Jack Lacy.

 

III.             FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS:

Roll Call:  Certification that “the provisions of The Open Meetings Act, Section 551.001 et.seq. of the Texas Government Code have been complied with in connection with public notice of this meeting and a quorum is present.”

 

IV.              OPEN FORUM:  None.

 

V.                 ACTION ITEMS:

5.1  Canvass School Board Trustee Election Votes.  Heath Grammier made the motion to accept the trustee election count submitted by Election Judge Vivian Phinny.  Patty Campbell seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0. 

 

     Votes cast were as follows:

Rod Langlinais: 31

Dennis Ford:  Unopposed.

VI.       INFORMATION ITEMS:   Mr. Lowery proposed local board training  for the Trustees to receive 5 credits of Tier III training on Long Range Planning. Time and date: To be announced.

 

VII.           BOARD COMMENTS:  None.

 

VIII.        CLOSED SESSION:  None.
