Withdrawal Procedures:

 1.     Print out Withdrawal form from RSCCC SRG0900

2.     Have student or Secretary get signatures by teachers with withdrawal grades.

 

3.     Student MUST see counselor before withdrawing.

4.     Principal and Parent MUST sign withdrawal form.

5.     Get Initials from the cafeteria, library, and nurse.

 

6.     Ask Parent where student will be attending.  Will student attend School in State, Out of State, Home Schooling or Private School?  THIS IS EXTREAMLY IMPORTANT.

 

 

7.     Code withdrawal Reason with proper code.

24 – College, Pursue Degree

60 – Home School

66 - Removed-Child Protective Services

80 – School in Texas

81 – Private School

82 – School outside Texas

83 – Administrative Withdrawal (use only if student is not living in district)        

85 – Graduated outside Texas-Returned-Left Again

86 – GED outside Texas

87 – Enroll in University High School Diploma Program

98 – Other (Dropout)

 

After withdrawal form is signed by principal, parent and counselor:

 

Secretary will log onto RSCCC.

Click on Registration

Retrieve student who is withdrawing

Click on the W/R Tab

 

 

 

Enter the Exit Date                    Enter correct reason (leaver code)

 

 

Click on SAVE

The Computer will ask if you want to withdraw student from Special Programs.

Click YES (OK)

 

 

Send only the withdrawal papers with the parent.  Ask parent to have school request for records.

 

If a student withdrawals before 2nd period, the withdrawal date is that day.  If student withdrawals after 2nd period; the withdrawal date is the next day.  If student was absent and came in to withdrawal, the withdrawal date is that day.

 

You can not hold student records for overdue fines.  You have 10 days to get student records to the requesting schools.

 

If a student’s whereabouts can not be determined, you can administrative withdrawal that student after 10 consecutive days of absences.  The withdrawal code is a “98” (dropout).

 

Do not withdraw a student on the last day of school.  They will be coded a “NO SHOW” on the first day of school.

 

  

LEAVERS:

 

Leaver are reported on students in grades 7-12 who leave with one of the codes shown on code table C162 ( graduates, private school, home school, return to home country, out of state)

 

Leaver Records are submitted for students who left the district before the end of the school year, did not return in the same year, and did not return in the school start window except for: school year movers and students who receive GED before August 31.

 

Leaver records are submitted for students who finished the school year and did not return in the fall within the school-start window except for: summer time movers and students who receive GED before August 31.

 

Arp ISD codes every student that leaves the district with the proper withdrawal code!!!!

 

 

Grades 7 – 12 

 

1.     Print out Leaver form – Leaver Tracking Form (Other)

2.     Make sure all information is correct

3.     PEIMS Coordinator will verify information and sign

 

  

Information needed in students folders:

 

1.     Leaver tracking form

2.     Students withdrawal paper signed by principal and parent

3.     Request of records for the other district

4.     Last Report Card

5.     Copy of students Immunization Records

 

 

Proper coding is IMPORTANT!

 

Follow up on student’s whereabouts: Make sure they are enrolled in the district they are going to attend.

 

If student is enrolled but has been absent for 10 consecutive days, and the whereabouts is unknown, you can administrative withdrawal that student.  The Leaver Code will be a “98” Drop out.  The only reason the administrative withdraw a student is when the district finds out that the student is not living in that district.

 

Students that are coded “DROP OUT” (98) affect the Campus and District Accountability Rating!
