RESPONSIBILITY

A person with good character demonstrates responsibility by being accountable for his or her own actions.  A responsible person does not blame others for how they act.  The difference between demonstrating self-control and lack of it, lies in the fact that a responsible person is proactive instead of reactive.

There is a difference between being victimized and becoming a victim as an identity.  I am reactive when I am defined by or directed by what someone did or is doing to be now.  A proactive life style is one with convictions and values that do not waiver depending upon what others do or don't do.  Core values and believes do not change just because others do not appreciate or practice them.
