Dear
___________________________,
Student attendance is one of the primary factors contributing to student
success. The State of Texas also has requirements for student
attendance. According to the latest ruling from the Texas Education
Agency, a student must be in attendance at least 90% of the days in a
semester to receive credit. As of today, your child has been absent
from school at least five (5) times this semester. (Refer to attached
attendance documentation for actual days absent.)
Please
see that every attempt is made for your child to attend school. If
further absences occur which put your child over the allowed number of
absences, another certified letter will be sent to you, possibly resulting
in legal action.
Please
communicate with the school in writing or by phone immediately, so that we
can work together to ensure that your child completes the rest of the
semester without losing credit.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ron
Sterling,
Principal Arp High School
